King Cartoon

King Cartoon (also known as Rupert) was host of the King Cartoon show. A program that started in the 1940s. The show featured a variety of cartoons, puppet shows and skits. The show had a cancelation in 1957 after dwindling viewership, but a revival show came in 1970. This new version was called the King Cartoon variety hour. Much of the program was the same, but they included musical guests along with fully colored sets. King Cartoon maintained his black and white color palette in an attempt to keep part of the show familiar. This revival lasted for 3 years before another cancelation. Though the show would not be revived, King Cartoon was given a full retirement and Gold Rush studios allowed him to freely roam. After leaving film he went to the drawn district to fully work at his off industry job as manager of the King’s Soda Shop.
