Gal Goldie

Goldie starred in a series of cartoons inspired by the classic fairy tale, Goldilocks and the three bears. The shorts centered on a family of bears ( A mom, dad and son later named Beau, Buck and Bo respectively) humble at first, until the papa bear goes wild for a blonde dancer. The comedy came from his attempts to get Goldie's attention, run away with her and hide his attraction from his wife. Most cartoons ended with Buck getting his comeuppance with a hit on the head by his wife Beau with a rolling pin or frying pan. The slapstick with Buck and Beau was compared to early Tom and Jerry. Goldie's role was limited to a character who incites the violence simply by her presence while being oblivious to Buck. She rarely had lines, if any.
